2750 - Pi play

Here's a new way to play with pi on your computer. If you go to fathom.info/pi and download the pi program, you can look up your favorite numbers that are contained within the first 100,000,000 digits of pi. I found my birthday starting at digit 98,588,838.

I know, it's hard to see anything with this screen shot. When the program is running it takes up the whole screen. It's a 48 meg download because the data file is 45 meg. 100,000,000 digits take up a lot of space.

To get away from the screen temporarily hit the twitter icon. It will take you to a browser screen and then you can go back to the pi program. Otherwise you have to exit the program.

To enter a new number hit the X on the keypad on the screen.

Have fun.

Mike, you need to walk away from the computer. Really? You are really into the math.

Linda - I've tried to walk away but I take 3.14 steps and I'm right back here.

Only a hundred million digits?? The national debt, the Pentagon budget, and the Koch Brothers profits sneer at your measly hundred million!
