5505 - May the Fourth be with you

So I need to do something Star Wars today. I'd seen a video recently about someone that made a real handheld lightsaber. Did I save the link for the video? Nope. So I went looking and found a few lightsaber videos. I don't know if any of these were the one I saw but they show more advanced lightsabers than I'd seen before.

Then here's a longer video of the lightsaber shown near the end of the last video.

If you make it through both of these videos, you'll get permission to make your own official nerd badge.

  1. And to think, all George Lucas was looking to do was put a Errol Flynn-like swordfight in a sci-fi film.

  2. Kirk - Little did he know...

  3. No nerd badge for me. That first one looks more like a super sized fancy cigarette lighter.

  4. My nerdiness comes in different fields. Though some days a light sabre would come in handy.

  5. River - Just don't get too close to your face.

Sue - There have been many days I could have used a lightsaber and it's a good thing I didn't have one.

  6. I'm sort of an anti-weapon kind of guy...and I'm still seeing cat outlines...everywhere.

  7. By the way Mike, the Fifth is with me today. Sitting on the back porch with a jug of Four Roses, watching the deer and listening to the birds come to life. A day of rest.

  8. Lightsabers are too wussy for modern Second Amendment zealots, who will go only for heavysabers with huge, high-capacity drum magazines to hold extra supplies of midichlorians. May the fourth be with you.

  9. Simmons - So you're getting an early start for Cinco de Mayo!

Bill - I guess I should have my midi-chlorian count checked. I wonder if insurance will pay for the test.

    Deb - Wet dream.

  13. Kathy - I think you need to get two of them, one for you and one for Tony.

  14. I was shocked that our Antique Mall did nothing to stimulate Trade for the Star Wars Anniversary!!! They just played the original Movie on the TV behind the Cashiers, yawn... I worked that Evening, I felt having some kind of Star Wars Event that day and prior to it informing all Vendors, if you have anything Star Wars related {many do, it's an Iconic Collectible}, bring it to special areas set up for viewing and buying. They miss so many great opportunities to appeal to the Collectible Market while simultaneously Celebrating something and having a good time. *Le Sigh*
