There are billions of people and a version of normal to go along with each one of them. No two versions are exactly the same. There will be hundreds of thousands of little things that make up your version of normal. With any luck you can find people that have close to the same idea of what normal is that you do. These are your friends. Anyone else you try to tolerate as best you can.
....
The exact definition of normal depends on who's running the asylum.

5689 - World Life Expectancy
Well, Wednesday Lady M got me searching for more information about nose-picking and I found this site. Not about nose picking but about world diseases in general. It's a data junkie's dream.
You have the intelligence and the imagination to see beyond mere numbers. I love to know things as well, and data is always indispensable. Thanks for always sharing worthwhile stuff and your worthwhile itself. Mike
I was appalled at how quickly the number increase on those charts...
ReplyDeleteSue - They are eye-opening stats.

ReplyDeleteCloudia - Fuuny, worthwhile, or hopefully interesting, my three go-to posts.
ReplyDeleteWe're number three on drug deaths, so we're not doing too well either. It's a sad reality.
ReplyDeleteRiver - I don't think you're going to catch us.
ReplyDeleteI can't find what kind of drugs - illegal, legal, opiates? We are way out in front of the rest of the world.
ReplyDeleteLady - I figure it has to be illegal drugs with possible misuse of legal drugs. Whatever it is it can't be good.
ReplyDeleteHeavy drug use is rampant. It comes over the border and there seems to be ignored by the government.
ReplyDeleteI think you are nr 1 in deaths by school shooters too :-(
ReplyDeleteIt makes one skittish of engaging with people knowing so many are drugged up on one thing or another because behavior is unpredictable.
ReplyDeleteSusan - But you've got a better rating than us.
ReplyDeleteStu - I don't doubt that one bit!
Jerry - I just heard on PBS that alcoholism is worse than the drug problem but no one is talking about it.
I thought hypertension was bad because it was a CAUSE of heart attacks and strokes. But according to this chart, you can die some other way from it.
ReplyDeleteKirk - It's a bonus way to die.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't get past the "Covid-19 Death Simulator." It sounds like a GOP argument that the pandemic was false.
