There has for as long as I can remember a rumor about statues of war heros on horses.
If all four feet were on the ground, the war hero retired without injury. If one front foot was off the ground, he was injured in battle. If both front feet were off the ground, he died in battle.
Well according to Wikipedia, it's just not true. It's a nice story, but... Oh well, another urban myth bits the dust.

I'd feel better about the Wikipedia debunking of the myth if it wouldn't have been based on the results of a ... gallop poll.
Well, I never knew that but at least you've saved me from thinking it was true if I ever read about that in the future.
Bilbo - Did you hurt yourself when you typed that?
Amanda - I've never done predebunking before.
There goes Wikipedia again. Ruining cool stories.
