5385 - Jan 6

They forget so fast.

Update - Shaw corrected me on this one. I thought this was true but apparently not. Officer Sicknick was taken to the hospital after he got back to his precinct. "He was pepper-sprayed during the riot, and had two thromboembolic strokes the next day," (bear spray?)
Shaw has a link in her comment. Here's another link. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Death_of_Brian_Sicknick

Irony

Sad but true.

Not oppression.

Ring wingers.

I need one of these.

But...

Take your time.

Oops...

  1. All of these are spot on, except the one on Officer Sicknick. He was not killed by being bludgeoned by a fire extinguisher. He died of natural causes 24 hours after being attacked and sprayed, according to the Capitol Police, and they count his death as "dying in the line of duty."

Peg - How about you running for Senate in NC? Margaret for Senator!! Bilbo for president!

Cloudia - So that's why my stomach is spinning sometimes. It's that compass trying to get me going in the right direction.

Lady - Makes you want to bang your head on the desk sometimes.

  12. a list of Roman Emperors mentioned in the Bible. And don't forget the Roman Centurion who stabbed Jesus in thew side as he hung on the cross. He was not named, but his handiwork can be seen in crucifixes around the world. No good story is complete with out villains. https://www.thebiblejourney.org/biblejourney1/21-the-romanojewish-world-of-the-new-testament/roman-emperors-in-the-new-testament/

  13. Good old religion. It's sickening how many people use their religion to be assholes to others.

  16. These are great! I'm still laughing over no white people in the Bible.

To the GOP activist: Don't you think that God may have given us masks to protect us? Do you believe soap to get rid of germs? Shouldn't you have faith that God would keep you safe? Love Picard's reaction!

  17. RW - I think you are forgetting that the Romans were Italian and white supremacists consider them inferior and not white.

  19. I was aware that officer Sicknick did not die of wounds from the mele, but I can't help thinking his attacks the next day were caused by his involvement in the fighting the day before. It's just the kind of stress that cause those problems. I still consider him a hero.
