No this didn't happen to me but it's pretty funny.
Imagine it's 3am and you're heading back to your hotel room. You look down the hallway and see this at the other end.
Do you walk down the hallway? Find another route? Run like hell?!
Well the person that decided to walk down the hallway found this at the other end.
So it took a little longer to get to sleep that night. Right after his heartbeat slowed back down.

I definitely wouldn't be able to go to sleep, nor would I have gone close enough to see what it really was.
I was once walking alone on a deserted beach only lit by moonlight very late at night and saw a shimmering mermaid just above the ocean's edge. It turned out to be a life size sand sculpture, with long seaweed hair and shells on her tail. It took awhile for my heartbeat to slow down...
