152 - Corporate BS

News Corp is going to sell 9 of it's TV stations, one of them here in St. Louis (KTVI ch2), for "stratigic" reasons. Here's some corporate speak for you.

- It will be cut loose for "basically strategic reasons".
- St. Louis is a "very strong market, but it was not one that's strategically critical for us".
- KTVI is "a really good station. But we have a lot of stations, and we need to lighten the load".

Oh, and by the way News Corp is launching a takeover bid for Dow Jones & Co., Publisher of the Wall Steet Journal.

So the translation of all this is, we're going to sell companies and mess with people lives so we can buy a bigger company and mess with even more peoples lives. And after we're all done we'll go into the boards bathroom and play with ourselves.
