1279 - Quotes

Well if you look up the seven deadly sins in wikipedia you get - wrath, greed, sloth, pride, lust, envy, and gluttony.

But I found this on John's(in england) quote site. I verified it on another quote site.

Ashley Cooper

Seven Deadly Sins

Truth, if it becomes a weapon against persons.
Beauty, if it becomes vanity.
Love, if it becomes possessive.
Loyalty, if it becomes blind, careless trust.
Tolerance, if it becomes indifference.
Self-confidence, if it becomes arrogance.
Faith, if it becomes self-righteous.

I also found this -

Cicero, Marcus Tullius

The Six Mistakes of Man

1. The delusion that personal gain is made by crushing others.
2. The tendency to worry about things that cannot be changed or corrected.
3. Insisting that a thing is impossible because we cannot accomplish it.
4. Refusing to set aside trivial preferences.
5. Neglecting development and refinement of the mind, and not acquiring the habit of reading and studying.
6. Attempting to compel others to believe and live as we do.

Update -
Marcus Tullius Cicero; January 3, 106 BC – December 7, 43 BC; was a Roman philosopher, statesman, lawyer, political theorist, and Roman constitutionalist.

The six mistakes of man sounds like the radicals guide to religious superiority.

Thanks, Mike - you gave me the theme for today's post! I think Mr Cooper must be as jaded an observer of politics as I am.

All you have to do is put a picture of Rush Limbaugh next to each of the seven deadly sins and they are explained perfectly.

B - I assume the check will be in the mail?

J - I try not to post pictures of Limbaugh or Beck. I don't want to degrade my blog.
