So I'm reading a doctor column in the paper and someone says they were born with a caul and does it mean anything. The doctor says no don't worry about it. ....... A WHAT?! Off to the knower of everything, wikipedia.
A child "born with the caul" has a portion of the amniotic sac or membrane remaining on the head. There are two types of cauls. The most common caul is adhered to the head and face, and looped around the ears of the infant. The rarer type drapes over the head and partly down the torso of the child.
Nice info but no pictures. I need pictures. So I find a link on the wiki site to .... Caul Bearers United. That's right. There's a website about people that were born with a caul. They had a picture. Well, a drawing.
So if you were born with the amniotic sac drapped over your head you have a new organization to join. They're looking for new membranes..... I mean members.

I may join, but I think I'll wait for them to caul me first.
"not to worry about it" the doctor says.
c'mon!really? I imagine it isn't dire but it is a difficult way to go through life with a membrane over your face. Or possibly a permanant berka?
Where do you find these things Mike?
Okay I guess I should stop complaining about UTI's.
Uh, WTF?
Now I'm all paranoid my child is going to be born with a caul.
Thanks, Mike. :)
B - I'll let them know you need to be cauled. Watch your back.
M - Other people say 'yuck'. I say 'BLOG material!'
RW - This falls into the 'be happy with what you have' category. Happy UTI to you!
C - Are you going to be checking out the previous 79,999 births at the hospital?
Awesome. Thanks for the knowledge. I shall use this to haunt others.
K - Finally. Someone that will put this knowledge to good use.
