I get this email every once in awhile. The one about 5 Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays only happening every 823 years. Of course it's a different month every time because they happen so often. This time it's July 2011. Here's the calendar...

So let's think about this. The year can only start on one of seven days. So when the year starts on a Friday, that January will have the magic combination. It would be every seven years if not for leap years. 2010 was a year that started on Friday. The next one will be 2016.

When the year starts on Saturday (2011) and assuming no leap year, July starts on a Friday. Thus the majic combination appears. And since 2016 is a leap year July will ALSO start on a Friday and have the magic combo.
