1892 - Coringov

Corruption in government. That seems like it should be all one word doesn't it? Maybe we could come up with a new word, coringov. "Coringov was up today as local officials ate lunch with contractors."

But someone is already on that track. A site called iWatchNews. They have a cool interactive map that lets you see your states corruption ranking. And actually Missouri isn't all that bad at number 15 with a C- rating.

Here's a picture of the map. Click the LINK for interaction.

If you go to the site and click on your state, you get this report card.

Hmmm...Virginia got an "F" and ranked 47th out of 50. Must be the proximity to DC. My home state of Pennsylvania got a C-, ranking 18 out of 50 ... all I can say is that if a state can get a C- and still rank 18th, it must really smell bad near the bottom.

Bilbo - You're to close to the 'true' professional politicians.

Its no laughing matter but you have to admit that this idea is funny in a sad sort of way.

LA and NC both get C- ratings. Not too good on public access to info.

Some are surprises: IL rated a C; CA a B+.

Gaw, it's not like we didn't already know this but it is sickening to see it in print.

AL tied for 15th? But look WHERE it got its Fs.

NJ is ranked 1
at first I thought that meant we were the most corrupt but it actually means we're not corrupt which I think means the survey is corrupt so everyone flip the results

Amanda - I'll look for an Austrailian survey to distract your sadness.

Angel - C- is kind of high on the list.

Lizbeth - It's like somebody saying something obvious out loud.

Elvis - Missouri got an F in political financing because they recently eliminated the contribution limit.

Dianne - That does make the list suspect doesn't it.
