I may have done a post on this before but it's time to do one again.
Feeling down? Want to raise your spirits? Chug some magnesium! Here's some symptoms and some reasons for magnesium deficiency.
Some Common Magnesium Deficiency Symptoms:
* Hypertension
* Cardiovascular disease
* Some forms of cancer
* Compromised immune system
(with secondary problems as a result)
* Erectile dysfunction
* Diabetes
* Vitamin K deficiency
* Migraine
* ADHD
* Depression
* Asthma
* Insomnia
* Osteoporosis (brittle bones)
* Certain form of allergy
* Increased sensitivity to stress
* Involuntary muscle twitches
Some reasons for Magnesium deficiency:
1 - Lack of magnesium in the diet
2 - Strenuous exercise without replenishing the minerals
3 - Poor absorption: Low hydrochloric acid in the stomach
4 - Stress depletes the body of minerals and especially magnesium.
5 - Refined carbohydrates, alcohol and coffee deplete magnesium.

Black-eyed peas (1/2 cup) = 45 mg
Buckwheat flour (100g (4 oz)) = 250 mg
Halibut (100g (4 oz)) = 107 mg
Milk: low fat (1 cup) = 40 mg
Oats (100g (4 oz)) = 235 mg
Peanut butter (2 tablespoons) = 50 mg
Spinach (1/2 cup) = 80 mg
Wholemeal bread (1 Slice) = 25 mg
Like I need a reason to eat more stuff.

I'd be careful with putting extra stuff like that into your diet. My doctor told me years ago that I was deficient in iron and needed to take iron supplements. I increased my intake of iron for six months and felt better, but I couldn't sleep unless my head pointed north.
Going to eat some peanut butter now.

Shit, eat more food. So simple - and here I've been taking these friggin' horse pills of 400MG each of magnesium! All I had to do is eat.
Screw my doctor from now on I'm calling Mike! Food - good.

King - This has been known about for awhile but you seldom hear about it.
Peg - You sure it's not 400mG as in micro grams? My vitamin pill has 2.3MG (milligrams) and it says it's 115% of the daily requirement.
Jay - Your really know how to have a good time with food. Are you snorting some of that flour too?
Angel - Everything in moderation. Except the stuff you really really like.
