1933 - Ads for women (old ads)(really old)

Here's one for the girls. It's what the ad men thought of you not to long ago. Like this Hotpoint ad. You girls still do the laundry in your high heels while Dad and the kids watch TV don't you?

Well somebody put together a lot better group of ads than this one right HERE.

********

And for a bonus for the girls, here's an article in The Atlantic. Or the PBS interview on the article.

Those ads are definitely mysogenic.

These ads make me uncomfortable, like Mad Men.

Angel - Times have changed haven't they?

Grand - You just have to laugh at them and be glad those times are gone.

But are they gone?
I get men every day who don't believe me and they ask to speak to a man. Seriously. Not a week goes by that this does not happen.

And I do my laundry in pearls and heels just like the ad.
That's all....just pearls and heels.

Peg - Did Rick ever tell you about his Youtube account?

I've always wondered what the women of that era thought of all this. Sometimes I think they take pride in what they do and how they look but then again, how could they live like that every day?
