I think Claudia and I could easily fill up these shelves.
Books are aMAZING. Sometimes literally.
Stair-step book case. This would be fun to build.
To many windows? Book 'em out.
Real books? I'm not sure.
And then I found A SITE that is dedicated to building book shelves. If I counted right there are 114 categories of book shelves. Some of the pictures repeat in different categories but there are plenty of different book shelves to pick from.

All are fantastic! The first one is truly beautiful. It must have taken incredible precision in measurement and cutting t oeffect it.
I wish I had that many books.
The first one was a great bookcase design, filling the space available.
Mmmmmm ... BOOKS!
I want that top room!!
I would love that first one and I could fill it with my Nancy Drews from my childhood to my current reads. Can't do that with a Kindle can you?
Angel - I could build that first one. Let's see this is 2012....
Heidi - Just never get rid of a book away and you collection will grow.
Elvis - And a dedicated room to go with it.
Dana - Mmmmmm indeed.
Dianne - Get your son started on building it. Telephone men can do anything.
Peg - If Claudia and I had that unit/room at least all our books would be in one place.
Bookshelves are so awesome. The biggest benefit to owning a home is being able to have lots of built in bookshelves.

This has just reminded me of that book art project I need to work on with the boys!
I'm glad to see that so many of us are so fond of books. I'd love to have a library with a house attached. If you want to read a fascinating book about books and libraries and book collecting, I recommend "The Library at Night," by Alberto Manguel (which I've mentioned in my blog several times over the years). You'll love it!
Jay - Plus the neighbors aren't so close.
Amanda - Just another service I provide.
Bilbo - Sounds like a good book.
