2000 - What day is this?

Post 2000. Right in the middle of a 3 day holiday. How do I know it's a holiday weekend? I heard it on the news. For me there are three Saturdays this weekend instead of two. But then I only have four Saturdays this coming week instead of five. I guess it all evens out but I wish it was more consistent. I think we should get rid of all holidays.... you know, for consistency.

Here's how to do it. With a new calendar. Do you think somebody may have come up with idea yet? DO YOU THINK SO!?

A very interesting idea. The French Revolutionaries tried a new calendar, with seasonally-themed months (like Thermidor), but they reverted back to the Gregorian calendar after ten years. Oh, Year I begun with the fall of the Bastille!

Many years ago I heard of a proposed calendar that had 13 28 day months plus one day holiday named Sol. Every fourth year would still have a leap day that would follow or precede Sol.

For any given year, the 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd of each month falls on Monday.

Angel - THe article mentions that this is not a new idea at all. Just the latest.

John - I've read about lunar calendars also. But the moon is less precise than the Sun.

Now, don't you all go screwing around with the calendar, now that I've finally memorized the "thirty days hath September" thing ...

Bilbo - How does that go again? Come on. Do you REALLY know it?
