That got me looking at the flags of other countries. The Olympic rings were designed with all the colors (including the white background) that were on all the worlds countries flags in 1912.
And then I found THIS LINK on Wikipedia. (you can click on individual flags to see them bigger) I did a count of all the countries that have red white and blue as the colors of their flags. 27 countries have red white and blue as their flag colors including China and Russia. Some even have flags that look quite a bit like the US flag. Blue field with red and white stripes.
The Wikipedia link timeline goes back to the year 1700 for all the countries listed. Memorize all the flags for all the countries back to 1700. There will be a test tomorrow.
So I guess my ending point will be 'which red white and blue are you rooting for?'

Liberia's flag uses red, white, and blue. And it was even based on the American flag.
Costa Rica had a neat six-pointed red star on a white background once.
Australia has red, white and blue on it but they wear the green and gold when they compete. I think the green and gold are the colours of the national flower...
Think of it: France's flag is red, white, and blue.
