Here's a story called 'Busting the 8-Hour Sleep Myth: Why You Should Wake Up in the Night.'
I don't have much to add to the story. My sleep patterns don't match up to what they say is normal. I'm up until 2 - 4 am and then get 8 hours of sleep. I do wake up but have an easy time going back to sleep. But I'm not up like the story says.
And then I found this cool picture at the Wikipedia link on sleep. Of course it's off about 5 hours for me.
And then as a bonus here's a useful site for the internet junkie. http://downrightnow.com/ If you are having trouble accessing a major site this will tell you whether the site is down or not. Plus you can report a site down.
And if the site you're looking for doesn't show up on their main page, just type the name of the site at the end of the URL (like Netflix) and it will pop up.

Thanks, Mike! downrightnow.com should be useful and frustration-preventing.
My, you are a night owl!
I don't mind it if I wake up in the middle of the night, its easy for me to fall asleep again. My problem is falling asleep in the first place....
Angel - I just got up and looked out the window. What's that big yellow thing in the sky?
Amanda - Same here.
I have lots of trouble falling asleep most nights. If I wake up in the middle of the night it just depends on how long I've slept as to how much trouble I have getting back to sleep. If I've slept near 5 hours I have trouble, less than 4, I go right back to sleep.

I'm just grateful for that "suppression of bowel movements" thing ... probably saves a ton of money on laundry.
Jay - I would have some sensor that could tell when I'd been asleep for four hours that would wake me up. Then, right back to sleep.
Bilbo - I hope that suppression thing keeps working for old people.
Is *that* what they mean by "nocturnal awakenings"?!
This changes everything.
A remarkable article on sleep. Something to think about, and sleep on in two separate installments!
LET - Let's stay with your version.
Elvis - You get to have two dream sequences instead of one!

I keep trying to find a schedule that works since I stopping working
Dianne - The only patttern I try and keep is sleep and more sleep.
