Well it was late Tuesday night around midnight. I had to get the trash down to the curb. I rolled the recycle bin down and came back up to get the regular trash.
I happened to look to my left down in front of the bushes in front of my house.
What is that over in the corner? It looks like a person laying down.
Did my son come home and forget his keys? Did he decide to lay down out front? WTF? It looks like my son so I go over to see what's going on.
He's sleeping with his stocking cap pulled down over his face.
I tap him on the foot to wake him up while I'm asking him what's going on. Then someone pulls up their stocking cap and I can see... it's not my son. WTF! Then I notice the two duffle bags this guy has with him. I've got a vagrant sleeping in my front yard.
So I back off as he doesn't seem to want to get up and go back in the garage and call the police. They are on the way they say.
So I roll the other trash can down to the curb while I wait. Now this guy decides to get up and wander around the front of my house. Where are the police!
The police call me back to say they are on the way and ask where is this guy now. Well now he has his duffle bags and is walking down my driveway.
I think this guy realized I was calling the police and was moving on but was in no hurry.
As he passed me at the end of the driveway I got cursed at. Something which continued as he crossed the street into the neighborhood across the street. I got a few Fu's throw at me as he walked up the street.
Now the police show up and they spot him.
He just walks over to the first car as two more police cars show up.
They talk to him for about 10 minutes as I watch from my front porch. Then the police leave with him still standing there looking my direction.
So I go back inside and call the police back to find out what is going on. They said he wasn't drunk but had said something about coming from the hospital up the street and would go back there.
They said they didn't have a reason to hold him and he was being really nice to them. They offered him a ride back to the hospital but he said no thanks. I'm thinking by this time, thanks a lot.
I go back out front to see where he is and he's gone. Where? Who knows. It was a long night Tuesday/Wednesday.

Oh my gosh! That was an unpleasant experience!
The Mike Hotel. I'll have to remember that if I become homeless.
I fear you will get a bad review on Yelp. Next time leave a mint on his sleeping bag pillow.
Angel - Especially since it took the police a little longer than I thought it should to get to my house.
Peg - Special rates, just for you.
LET - I wonder how many times he's been here before and I didn't know it.
Put up a "No Vacancy" sign in your yard.
And maybe carry a gun when you take the trash out.
Jay
This is scary and can be dangerful.
Jay - I actually thought "this is why some people have guns".
Kristen - Actually this isn't the first time I've had a visitor from the hospital at my house.
That's just scary. I had a patient from a nursing home walk in my front door before, but never found one sleeping in my front yard!
COL - A nursing home resident would be nicer to encounter that a physic ward releasee.
