Well here is an interesting article from Popular Science about the evil sugar. But this article has some interesting facts. It's not just a "don't eat sugar because it's bad for you" article. It actually tells you WHY it's bad and what happens in your body.
From the article....
When large amounts of fructose enter the liver and it is already full of glycogen, most of the fructose gets turned into fat.
Some of the fat gets shipped out, but part of it remains in the liver. The fat can build up over time and ultimately lead to Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease.
Basically, 25% of calories as fructose significantly harmed blood lipids....
Excess fructose is a known cause of insulin resistance and elevated insulin in the blood.
The fructose drinkers felt less satisfied and were still hungry.
Sugar, due to its powerful effects on the reward system in the brain, can lead to classic signs of addiction.
Willpower is very weak compared to the leptin-driven starvation signal.

Excellent reasons to clamp down on sugar. I've given up Coke drinks.

While it isn't new news I am hopeful that people will finally get this as well as the evils of aspertame. That is even worse!!
