Well with the beginning of the new year all the metropolitan areas body counts reset to zero. Of course New Years night is not a good night for the restart. I'm sure most metropolitan areas didn't stay at zero for more than a few hours (or minutes).
But I found a more fun body count to talk about. Movie body counts. Somebody took the trouble to count the dead people from the beginning to end of the most bloody movies. So what was the highest body count movie ever? Lord of the Rings: Return of the King. Can't say if I've ever seen that one.
The movie count probably counts only visible bodies. Otherwise the destruction of the Death Star in Star Wars would probably have a much higher number.
So here's a list of the top 25... (click it to big it)
And then if you want to see the top 101 go HERE. I'd post it here but I don't think it would blow up big enough to read here.
Happy Halloween!

If one includes made-for-TV movies and miniseries, I think that HBO's "Game of Thrones" would be up there on the list. "The Return of the King" is undoubtedly extremely violent, but in a fantasy vein ... I don't think anyone is crying for all the orcs that were offed in the course of the film.
That's a fun list.....
Originality in killing could be another category. The Boondock Saints had some really odd ones.
I'm just proud to say that I have not seen these movies. Well does walking out of Private Ryan count? Too bloody for me!
How many of these slaughter-fests got pg-13 ratings? I guess I could look that up. Anyway, I watched "300" and thought it was a comedy.

I saw American Hustle last night. Great picture; solid, no body count. Politicians and feds behaving badly.
Thanks for the information.
I remember Joe Bob Briggs used to give the titty count for drive-in movies.
