It's an editable map like Wikipedia is editable. See a error on the map. Log in and fix it.
OK I haven't signed up yet to be a map editor. Why? Because in looking at the area above, my home area, I couldn't find any errors. But I'm going to keep looking.
And since it's open source you can use it for free on whatever.

I see it as having a great potential for mischief -- but look what occasionally happens with Wikipedia!
I think that the mythical Shit Creek will make an appearance on some maps.
I'll check out one of Huntsville.
