Here's a LINK to an article about not so nice stuff in your food. Everyone has obviously heard about high fructose corn syrup (number 4). But the rest of these are new to me. I've add links to the wikipedia articles on each one. The last one, meat glue, sounded like a joke at first. It's not.
1. Azodicarbonamide in Bread - Can be found in your food or in foamed plastics.
2. Plastic Microbeads in Fish and Waterways - Working their way into the food chain and into your body.
3. Brominated Vegetable Oil in Soft Drinks and Beverages - Memory loss, tremors, fatigue, loss of muscle coordination, headache, ptosis, elevated serum chloride anyone?
4. High Fructose Corn Syrup and Artificial Sweeteners in Soft Drinks - Back to regular sugar? Maybe not. "...the journal Nature calling for all types of sugar and HFCS to be regulated the way alcohol or tobacco are."
5. Transglutaminase Also Known as "Meat Glue" - This was a real surprise to me. The food industry actual uses this stuff to bind pieces of meat together. "...The amount of bacteria on a steak that’s been put together with meat glue is hundreds of times higher.” Meat glue IMAGES.
