I don't think I've ever seen a sign like the following one in an elevator. This is a Swedish sign. You know somebody in Sweden died before this sign went up.
But then I found this elevator. I'd never heard of this type of elevator before but they are apparently still in operation in Europe. It's called the Paternoster. See the right side? It's going up. The left side is going down. There are no doors and it's in continuous motion. Time your entrance and exit carefully. Remember the sign above.

I got to know Paternosters very well when I lived in Germany. It was always a test of the nerve of new riders to see if they were willing to ride it all the way around.
Is it called that because you feel impelled to pray?
I would avoid at all costs. I'm clumsy to start but this is screaming 'death for peg'. Or as rick likes to say, natural selection.
