2848 - Congress in action
The idiots are up to it again. Here are a few of the bills proposed on the first day of House activities.
H.R.148 from Rep Jones, Walter B., Jr. [ NC-3 ] To amend title 10, United States Code, to ensure that every military chaplain has the prerogative to close a prayer outside of a religious service according to the dictates of the chaplain's own conscience.
So never mind that a Chaplain's job is to minister to all religions. Let's let the Chaplain cram his own religion down anyones throat when he wants too.
H.R.172 from Rep Thompson, Bennie G. [ MS-2 ] "To designate the United States courthouse located at 501 East Court Street in Jackson, Mississippi, as the""R. Jess Brown United States Courthouse""
H.R.173 from Rep Thornberry, Mac [ TX-13 ] To repeal the Federal estate and gift taxes
H.R.174 from Rep Wittman, Robert J. [ VA-1 ] To provide that the salaries of Members of a House of Congress will be held in escrow if that House has not agreed to a concurrent resolution on the budget for fiscal year 2016 by April 15, 2015
172 - who cares...
174 - It doesn't stop their salaries, just delays them.
173!!! WHAT! This is the sneaky stuff that shows up in the middle of a string of bills. Bastards.

HR 34 has merit. And who cares what they name a courthouse in Mississippi?
S 16 from Sen Vitter, David [ LA ] A bill to amend the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act to apply the provisions of the Act to certain Congressional staff and members. Sounds interesting. Why were they excepted?
I haven't had time to study these, but certainly I wonder where some of these ideas even come up from?
I wonder how many of those bills will be signed into law.
