2910 - Trash man

So you're the trash man. You get to work and they tell you to get out there and start picking up trash now, 5am now. Do you remind your boss that there is a noise ordinance, or do you go to work and hope that you don't get fired? After all, if somebody complains it's not your problem, right?

Ask Kevin McGill that question. The guy that's spending 30 days in jail for making noise before 7am.

The whole story HERE.

What a shame! The poor man was mistreated. I should think that people would be glad that the trash gets taken away regularly.

If anyone needed a fine, it was the company, not the poor snook doing his job.

Insane.... but then sometimes our rules are pretty crazy, and this poor guy is a victim, not a perpetrator.

WOW. I bet they would be the first to bitch when their garbage isn't collected and it begins to smell and other issue occured. Why is he in jail and not the company being punished? I don't get that.
Sadly I am up by 6am - so pick up is fine with me. We as a society are a bunch of pussies!

Well, he was picking up garbage in an entitled suburb of Atlanta. What do you expect?

I think I can put up with a little noise just to get the darn garbage picked up. Is this the biggest problem they have - garbage men who don't tip toe around?

Okay, I'll be the grouchy curmudgeon: garbage collection is necessary but very noisy, and I don't think there's a problem with requiring that it take place after a civilized hour like 8:00 AM. That said, 30 days in jail for collecting trash too early is stupid.
