You can click these pictures to make them bigger to see what you are doing wrong when you lace up your shoes. HA! You thought there was only one way, right? Oh nooooo. There are a multitude of ways depending on your particular problem. I'll bet you didn't even know you had lacing problems did you?
Well here's a start on a fix. There will be a test coming up soon.

I had no idea that there are different ways of lacing shoes. You are a font of knowledge, Mike!
I like my shoes easy to untie, as I take them off when I work. Think better that way!
I know that my hubby ties his shoes very differently from how I do it. Velcro is much easier for kids.
At least I can be cool and comfortable with my shoelaces.
