3038 - Is it over yet?

Is Thursday over? Yes? Well Friday won't be any better.

Yesterday the water company had the water shut off in the neighborhood for some maintenance work for some future road work. They had to cut open a pipe and splice in a new shutoff valve.

You know what a cut open pipe does, right? It puts little bitty pieces of junk in the pipe. You know where that junk winds up? In your faucet valves.

How many of my faucets are messed up you asked? The two that are single lever cartridge type. Clogged to the max. One is the kitchen sink faucet. One of my future projects was going to be replacing the kitchen faucet AND sink. Guess what project has just started.
Along with that project comes the bath shower. I've replaced that cartridge before, after an incident. Post 548. So I thought I would get that out of the way first. I try and turn the shut off valves. One works, the other.... nope. So now I have a shut off valve to fix first before ...

...I can fix the shower valve.

Gee, I'm sorry Mike. Is that the trickle down effect of trouble?

Bummer. I bet the water department doesn't reimburse any expenses either. Good thing that you're handy and can fix them.

I learned years ago that Thomas Edison invented the double sink, for his housekeeping staff. Can't be sure it's true, but they tell that story at his Ft Myers FL lab and estate.

Mike I'm impressed that you can make the repairs yourself! If you had to hire a plumber, you'd have to get a real job.
