So I saw this meme about naps and thought, 'so true'.
So naps have their own t-shirt.
There are even napping instructions.
A nap can cure a lot of ills.
Me too.
No it's not. There are plenty of people doing crazy stuff to blog about.
There are billions of people and a version of normal to go along with each one of them. No two versions are exactly the same. There will be hundreds of thousands of little things that make up your version of normal. With any luck you can find people that have close to the same idea of what normal is that you do. These are your friends. Anyone else you try to tolerate as best you can. .... The exact definition of normal depends on who's running the asylum.

I can retire in 305 working days, so it's about time to sign up for Mike's correspondence course in effective napping. I'll get on that right away.
I don't need no stinkin' instructions on taking a nap.
Nope I have that down to a science my friend.
I've spent most of my life as a "short sleeper" (less than 6 hrs/night) sleeping about 4 1/2 per night and have been a power napper, as well. My sleep cycles have been 90 minutes until recently when they moved to 97 minutes.
My power naps have remained at 17 minutes since I was in college.
When working, I would go to bed based on the time I needed to get up. If I wasn't going to get my 4 1/2 hours of sleep, I would plan on 3. Waking up in the middle of a cycle really sucks.
If you hit the afternoon lull and can manage a 20 minute nap, my suggestion (based on the science of experience) is to have a cup of coffee or a coke about 10 minutes before napping. It will take the caffeine about 30 minutes or more to kick in and it will take effect about the time you are waking from your nap! Double whammy on the drowsy feeling!
You are welcome.
