Agents of H.A.R.E. Chapter 2 -- Trading Places

There are billions of people and a version of normal to go along with each one of them. No two versions are exactly the same. There will be hundreds of thousands of little things that make up your version of normal. With any luck you can find people that have close to the same idea of what normal is that you do. These are your friends. Anyone else you try to tolerate as best you can. .... The exact definition of normal depends on who's running the asylum.

It's pretty easy to translate ... most of it is "Hitler" marching and shouting "One, two, one, two." He orders a torte and a lady in the cafe calls the police because of his antics. Jews run from him, thinking he's nuts. Why someone would want to do this is beyond me. For a more nuanced and interesting spin on this theme, there's a book I'm working my way through by Timur Vermes titled "Er ist wider da" ("He's Back"). It's in German and I don't think it's out in English yet, but it's an interesting look at how a Hitler who somehow (magically) survived World War II might cope with the age of the Internet and the 24 hour news and media cycle.
This is truly odd and interesting.
Glad Bilbo could throw some light on this, and I'm also curious about why someone would want to do this. I did understand the One, two, one, two, as my grandparents spoke some German when I was a kid. I remember my grandfather telling a story in German that involved some horses.
If something can be thought of, someone will either have done it or will be doing it as soon as it's possible. There's also no accounting for taste or humor. What people like, they like. That can be a good thing...
Mike, hope all goes well for you and yours. You deserve a break but I'll miss your blogs being daily. I've gotten a lot mileage from the Saturday joke about the young couple awaiting midnight. Thanks!

Allen - I'm not going into total hiding. I'm just going to clear out my blog file without much fanfare in the posts.
