3105 - Yews

It's trimming time for the yews in my yard. They were here when we moved here 39 years ago. I managed to keep them trimmed back for most of that time. Then a few years ago I let things go. A little too long.

Here's a picture of a low yew. (not my house) This one is about half way up the window. Now picture one past the window to the roof line. Yup, time to cut them back a little. Or a lot.

I used a pruner until I thought the blade was going to bend. Then out came the chain saw. It was thick in there. It's amazing how many piles of debris you can make out of a few bushes. Or twelve so far. Two more to go and then a tree that got bigger than I thought it would.

I was going to have a 30 yard dumpster delivered. I might need a 40.

When the bushes come back maybe I'll keep them trimmed like this...

Maybe not.
