3283 - Short term memory 2
Well I found an interesting article on memory problems. (see how I'm carrying the theme from yesterday!) This is an article from AARP warning about memory problems some drugs can cause. It's directed at the older generation because the effects last longer in .... old people. There I said it.... old people.
The funny thing about this article is the title, "Caution! These 10 Drugs Can Cause Memory Loss". It's funny because the first drug they talk about is not a particular drug but a category of drug called benzodiazepines. If you follow a few links you get to Wikipedia's 'List of benzodiazepines'. The list has 52 generic drugs with 140 brand names.
And this is just the first of 10 categories in the article.
So if you can remember how to click LINKS, you can go to the ARTICLE and read up on why you might be forgetting things. (I gave you a second chance at the link in case you forgot to click the first one.)

Reminds me of the commercials about drugs that end with disclaimers about reactions....even may cause death! Thanks for the tips, Mike.
The list is a great service, Mike. I took benzodiazepines for a while, and glad to be rid of them.
Some of the antianxiety drugs do that too.
So far, no drugs for me.
Health professionals look at me like that's some kind of anomaly -- 55 and no drugs!
Weighing side effects vs. benefits can be a tricky issue. Good to know both and decide for oneself or together with loved ones.
It's good to have a list of specific drugs that cause STM loss.
