3317 - Toxic

What a better way to follow up Mother's Day with a post on toxic landfills and sites.

Here in St. Louis we have two adjacent landfills. One has radioactive debris from Monsanto's uranium processing days from WWII. The other is on fire underground. The powers that be have been trying to figure out what to do for years now. No one has come up with a solution yet.

Do you have something like that in your neighborhood? Here's a place to start looking. http://www.toxicsites.us/

The map looks like this.

You can blow the map up to get a better look at your area. Then you can mouse over a particular site to get more info. When the site name comes up, right click on it to open a new window to get the info. Otherwise when you go back to the main map it will be small again.

Have fun finding poisons in your area.
