3548 - Idle time
Did you know that in some states it's against the law to let your car idle? The states that have some kind of idle law are in this list.
Arizona
California
Colorado
Connecticut
Delaware
District of Columbia
Georgia
Hawaii
Illinois
Louisiana
Maine
Maryland
Massachusetts
Minnesota
Missouri
Nevada
New Hampshire
New Jersey
New York
Ohio
Oregon
Pennsylvania
Rhode Island
South Carolina
Texas
Utah
Vermont
Virginia
Washington
Wisconsin
Wyoming
Now some of these on the list don't cover the whole state. Missouri for instance is on this list because the City of St. Louis has a law. Luckily I don't live in the City, where you can't idle your car for more than 10 minutes.
Some states have a temperature exemption. Like below 40 degrees. If your state is on the list and you want to check out the law, go to the EPA site HERE.

I need to check the DC version of the law and see if it applies to Congress, which has been idle for quite some time.
I had no idea there were such laws! A fuel-saving measure, no doubt.
Not enforced in Hawaii in my experience, Mike!
Idle all you want in FL.
And in ND. How un-Lutheran!
I wonder how strict they are with enforcement.
