3719 - Bemidji
Kristen did a post yesterday about fashion in Bemidji. Where? Bemidgi Minnesota. Off to google maps to locate this place.
It's upper middle of the state. 14k population. So it's not a small town. But it's not huge either. It looks like a nice place from 200 miles up!
So I zoom in. And what's going right through the middle of town? The Mississippi River. Go figure! Kristen and I live on the same river.
Being the map loving person I am I decide to follow the river and see where it comes from. It took a few minutes but I finally got to Itasca State Park and the headwaters of the Mississippi. I knew this fact before but it's stored in my not too retrievable memory so the refresher was nice.
The park link has a live webcam for daylight viewing where you can see water from Lake Itasca flow over a 18 foot long rock dam into the Mississippi.
Looks like it might be a fun trip.... in the summer.

Sounds like a neat place. In MN, Virgil country.
Have yu visited that out of the way place?
Leroy - Nope. Don't think I've ever been to Minnesota.
Interesting. I was wondering where this was. I saw her post but didn't look it up. I'll check that webcam when it's daytime.
