4963 - Yesterday

 

Boy oh boy, I love hospitals. Boy oh boy oh boy oh boy oh boy. 

So we get there around 6:30 like we're supposed to. Check-in went pretty fast. We weren't sitting in the waiting room for 5 minutes when a guy came to get us... her. We're walking toward the door to go to preop when the guy says to me, "you have to wait here". And zip she was gone. That was about 6:45. 

I happened to sit across from the status board that no one told me about. Oh look, there's the number that's on the pager they gave me. That must be Claudia.

Update on status board - 8:00 - In surgery

Phone call to my cell - 12:00 - We're still working on her everything's OK

Phone call to my cell - 2:30 - We're still working on her everything's OK

Update on status board - 4:00 - Closing

Call from surgeon - Everything went OK. There was a little excessive bleeding we had trouble controlling but everything is OK.

Update on status board - 4:30 - In recovery

Call from nurse in recovery - 6:00 - We're waiting on room availability.

7:45 We have a room. You can go up.

.

8:00 Visiting hours are over. You have to leave. You know, COVID!

Claudia was still pretty much out of it from the anesthetic. She probably won't remember I was there. So when do visiting hours start? Noon. You know. COVID. 

So a few more irritations happened before I got out of there but at least I didn't have to sleep in a chair.
