5017 - Low Intelligence And Homophobia

Here's an interesting article from 2018 that I don't remember seeing or hearing of, but it's an interesting one that makes sense to me.

Researchers Find Link Between Low Intelligence And Homophobia

This is the link where I found the article which is a nice abbreviation of the study. There is a link to the study in the article. I went there and then came back. This link makes the point nicely.

I think this could also explain trumpers.

Interesting.
Mind you, low intelligence isn't the only reason. One of our erstwhile Prime Ministers (a highly educated man) admitted once that he was afraid of homosexuals and he certainly worked hard to deny them the right to marry. Fortunately he failed. Emphatically.

Sue - It's hard to tell what motivates some people to do the things they do. I'm working on a theory. When I get it all figured out I'll let you know.

Well, I think it's a pretty obvious conclusion, but at least someone got credit for a study out of it.

Lots of factors go into prejudice and bigotry. I don't know that low intelligence is a main one. My money's on tradition, social conditioning, fear, religion, etc. as being bigger factors.

Saying yet again :
Correlation is not causality.

Bill - Maybe it's time for us to make a few extra bucks with some government studies?

Deb - Especially the etc. part.

Stu - Yep. And just for fun, I looked up the dictionary definition of correlation. "In statistics, correlation or dependence is any statistical relationship, whether causal or not, between two random variables or bivariate data." Let's try and work the word 'bivariate' into conversation today.

When I first read the heading I thought well, duh! Isn't that trump, his family and friends? but then I read your comments and felt I may be an exception because I am not prejudiced towards same-sex couples but the word bivariate had to be looked up just in case I was wrong because I was not 100% certain of it's meaning....so maybe I am an exception to the rule. :-)

Why don't you and Rick bivariate together tonight?
