5045 - The atheist brain

The article is titled - "Are the Brains of Atheists Different to Those of Religious People?"

Meaningless cool picture representing the atheist brain.

It's an article from neuroscience news. It's not long but does have a lot of detail in it. And it goes through a thought process of maybe it's this but maybe not. Anyway here's the link.

And they mention things that turned into detours for me that I'd never heard of before.

In one of the articles, they mention the "goddess of humanity". I checked Wikipedia. Their answer was...
So it looks like Wikipedia can create goddesses. Wikipedia may be becoming all-powerful. Good thing I send them $10 a year.

Hmmm. More questions than answers.
And, as for the Goddess of Humanity - that sounds like a religion to me.

Sue - I nominate you to be the Goddess of Humanity.

I wish somebody would try to figure out my brain!
I don't have time to try to figure out someone else's brain!

There's nothing Wikipedia can't do.

John - We'll leave our brains to science and they can tell us after they analyze them.

Deb - It's the brain that knows almost everything. Well, a lot of stuff.

I listened to a great podcast that featured neuroscientist Sam Harris and he had some great insight about religion. I haven't been a fan of organized religion for a long time so I really enjoyed it but those who are pretty religious probably would not.

Matt - Organized religion is worse than politics. And actually, it's a combination of politics and religion.

For me of course the supreme Goddess of Humanity (and indeed of the entire universe!, obviously) is the quite astonishing Pauline Hickey, I wonder if Wikipedia could make her 17 again the way she was back in 1985 at the absolute pinnacle and peak of her physical attractiveness and desirability, and then somehow ensure that she stayed at 17 forever there-by giving her true Goddess-like status and stature as THE greatest mega-boobed sex-Goddess of all-time, if they could do that it would be absolutely fantastic ! ! !.

LJ - Sorry dude. I've already elected Sue as Goddess.

This is an interesting take on religion vs atheism, and always willing to learn more about it. Hugs, RO

RO - There are interesting arguments on both sides.

You and me both kid! I have sent Wikipedia a few $$ and it feels virtuous. Not only are you funny and irreverent, but virtuous too. Wow!
