Yesterday Joelle posted about what a little spec the earth is in the universe. That reminded me of an interactive size comparator that showed a comparison between the universe (10 to the 27th) down to the strings (10 to the -34.9th) that make up the universe. Human being 10 to the 0.
So I check my blog. Surely I did a post on that. Well, if I did I can't find it. So off to Google to see if anything is still out there. Yes, it is! How about that! Uhhh, it's based on Flash. Flash doesn't work anymore.
Well, look at that. He did a less detailed comparator that I think is just as good. Here's what the page looks like.
To get there click https://htwins.net/scale2/. You get a language screen, then a screen with a start button, then the screen above comes up. Then start sliding the button back and forth to see things big and small.

My long and stressful day is coming to a close. I had a look at that site but it made both of my brain cells hurt. Tomorrow. Perhaps.
Sue - I'll loan you one of my two brain cells to look at it. But you have to give it back!
The video you may be thinking of is called "The Powers of Ten." Here it is on YouTube: https://youtu.be/0fKBhvDjuy0
Bill - I don't remember that video. But that's probably where the guy that did this interactive got the idea from.
Bilbo's video I've seen before. I showed it on the Site TV on my ship in the early '80's. I knew they were in Chicago, but don't remember the getting smaller part.
Mark - I think the youtube video was made in 1977.
Very interesting. Thanks.
Kathy - What is your favorite size?
