5143 - Can the tub?

I wanted to buy one of these.

I went to Overstock.com (A) and bought one.

Then this showed up.

Not quite what I ordered. And it was cracked right in the middle on one side. (Thanks UPS)

So I called the company (D) that shipped it to me. You would think they would want their tub back since it cost twice as much as the can. Nope, you have to call Overstock.

So I called Overstock. They had to call the company (B) that sold it to me. So I bought it from A, who bought it from B, who bought it from D, and D shipped it to me. Are you still with me?

Can I just send this back to D and have them ship me what I wanted? Nope. Overstock (A) will refund my money. (They did.) I have to reorder if I still want the can.

Now I have this broken tub. I called company B. What do I do with this tub? Call this number and she will help you.

I called the number. I get an answering machine and the voice tells me I have reached company C, leave your name and I'll get back to you.

So, I've got my money back and have this broken tub. I could try and fix the tub but what if I finally get a call and they want it back? I guess I'll just wait 30 days and if I don't hear from anyone the tub is mine to fix or pitch.

I order a trash can from Amazon. It was here in two days.

Big, big sigh.
I can remember when customer service meant something.

My son had a similar problem with Overstock. In his case they sent him the right item (a small buffet for his dining room) but the wrong color. He jumped through all the same hoops you did, got his refund, waited a very long time for the return label, and then decided to go ahead and use the item anyway.

What a saga!

CEO of Overstock gives a shit ton of money to trump and he also gave money recently to help with the big election lie. I will no longer shop at overstock. Amazon is lesser of two evils

Thinking surely this was a joke, I kept waiting for the punchline. Joke it wasn't. More like a customer service nightmare.

I ordered a ceiling fan in April from Home Depot. I received notice it had been delivered May 2. Nothing at my doorstep. Went to look at UPS and discovered they had delivered the fan to Dorchester instead of Boston. My invoice had my correct address and zip. Why Dorchester? No one knows.

Got my refund; then reordered. Rechecked my name "First Name" "Last Name" and correct addy and zip code. Yay!

Got a notice in my email next day that HD received my new order. I looked at the invoice and saw that they recorded my name as "First Name" and "First Name" Instead of "First Name" "Last Name" Another eff-up. Hope it gets here even if my name is weirdly "First Name; First Name!"

(Obviously, I'm not using my real first and last name, since trolls follow me everywhere!)

The joys of online ordering!

Seal the tub and use it as a turtle pond?

Sue - Not anymore. :(

Deb - Technically not over yet but I don't think I'm going to hear any more about it.

Peg - I had never bought anything from Overstock before. This was my first and last attempt.

Shirley - Actually it was one big joke.

Shaw - I've met some of your trolls. They are persistent, aren't they? Did you ever think of using Shank as a last name? HA!
I couldn't believe how big the tub was. I may stick it in the corner of the basement and use it as a recycling point for electronics. When it fills up, haul it to the recycle center. I could fill it right now.
