I was cutting the grass a few days ago. I was in this area of my yard.
I was cutting up and down the fence turning around where the red line is. About the third time heading back I noticed something over by the bushes (red circle) in the church's lot. It was a deer, just laying there watching me cut the grass. After a couple of more times back and forth, I thought I should take a picture of this.
So I stopped the mower and started to get my phone out. Me stopping the mower got the deers' attention and it decided it was time to leave. It headed across the field to the creek at the bottom of the hill.
By the time I got my phone out, got it on, got the code in, got to the camera app, turned the camera on, the deer had walked just past the fence.
One more parting shot as it headed to the creek.

Wow.
I am super impressed at how green your grass is too.
Sue - The green green grass of home. We've had a LOT of rain this spring and the grass is growing like crazy.
It just moseyed by to say "hi!"
We have a smallish horse farm and in the spring I often find fawns curled up in the taller grass while mowing. It seems that mom leaves them where they will be safe during the day. In the wetter parts of the paddocks, grass might get to eight inches before the ground is firm enough to mow, and the little ones are well hidden until their ears pop up at the sound of the mower. I leave a couple of patches unmown during spring to provide a little deer daycare center.
I'm guessing the mower sound was white noise and when it stopped the deer woke up and decided to move on.
Nice yard! You don't have people to mow for you Mike? 😛
Deb - I think if I hadn't shut the mower off it might have stayed there.
Squiregeek - We have had some nesting under our pine trees in the front yard. But not this year.
Kathy - More than likely.
Peggy - I used to. But then I wasn't getting any exercise at all. I have 3/4 of an acre. I cut the front one day and the back the next. And I take lots of breaks. It's about the only time I'm outside. When I had a lawn service they were done in 45 minutes.
Exciting! Yes people and deer must be fooled if you want a good picture.
Cloudia - I got fooled on this attempt. The deer was just strolling away and it almost got out of range before I could get a picture.
Since I saw the title of your blog, I thought about adding some more deer puns but I didn't think you would be a fawn of them.
Matt - I have no-eye-deer why you would think that.
I think I need to subcontract my lawn to you.
Bill - As long as plane tickets come with it.
