There are billions of people and a version of normal to go along with each one of them. No two versions are exactly the same. There will be hundreds of thousands of little things that make up your version of normal. With any luck you can find people that have close to the same idea of what normal is that you do. These are your friends. Anyone else you try to tolerate as best you can. .... The exact definition of normal depends on who's running the asylum.

Not a day we celebrate here.
Happy (though that seems like the wrong word) Memorial Day to all those who do.
A day for reflection.
Over many decades the US flag has changed the number of stars in that blue field. Can anybody tell me when each change took place?
God Bless America.
Sue - I know what you mean. "Happy" Memorial Day doesn't quite sound right.
Deb - As far as I know I've never had a relative that died in a war.
Stu - Here are several good places.

I'd hadn't seen this one before. It has more info than just when the stars were added. It has a nice graph timeline. I like charts and graphs!

Title 4 describes the flag. There are only 11 official sizes of the US flag. But places sell about any size that you want. So when someone burns the "flag", it may not be a US flag at all. It may be just a banner that looks like a US flag.
Kathy - Recently, I wonder if he's been paying attention.
Thanks Mike.
So if DC becomes a state, House voted yes in April, Senate has not yet voted, a new flag would be needed with 51 stars?
If Puerto Rico became a state, also?
If both a new flag with 52 stars?
In the UK, if Scotland secedes, a new Union Flag?
Stu - Yes, but I don't see either happening anytime soon.
I didn't know (or I forgot) that Scotland wanted to secede.
50 stars for 50 states. There were 48 stars before Alaska and Hawaii became states.
They were talking about making D.C. and Puerto Rico states back when I was in high school, and that was a LONNNNNG time ago.
Mark - Maybe we should have 6 dots for the six territories we have.
Kirk - I know what you mean. But DC has been making a lot of noise lately. And I think PR would be 50/50 in a vote in PR.
