There are lots of words here. I'll try not to add any more. Old people may have to make some bigger.

Thank you.

Kangaroo words! I've learned something new today!

Ah -- the cursed English language!
I especially like the last one.

Sue - I have a few more but didn't want to overload the post since it's a lot of reading. When I get a few more I'll do another post.

Deb - That was new for me too.

John - It makes you go WHAT? And then you start checking and find out they're true.

You forgot a contronym ... bipartisanship: the act of working together to forge consensus, or "do what I want or up yours."

Your mind gives us pleasure again!

Bill - I think that's called bipartisanshit.

Cloudia - Let me think about that.

In the UK, just north of the Lake District, is Torpenhow Hill.
torr from Old English, penn from Old Welsh and haugr from Old Norse,
meaning Hill-Hill-Hill Hill ;-)
That's what I call consistent renaming across millennia by different
occupying tribes :-)

Stu - Depending on which tribe you're from would depend on which syllable you would emphasize.

I don't think I would have done well with English as my second language. As your post wonderfully and hilariously points out, I barely qualify saying English is my first language.

"To funny"! I will think of that from now on! And the read/lead clarification makes me laugh. Good post; thanks.

Matt - I'm right there with you.

Allen - Thanks back at ya.

English may be a strange language. but I love it for that reason.

Kirk - It makes for great puns.
