Rent a Car From Hertz, Get Arrested For Stealing
In September, Cindi and Myles considered a move to Tennessee. On their way to a job interview near Nashville, the police pulled them over. The Altima (that they rented from Hertz) they were driving had been reported stolen, the cops said.
"They had their guns drawn," Cindi says, adding that she was "freaking out."
Cindi had never been so much as arrested in her life. She showed the police the rental agreement, but it was no use. "They said they had no choice."
Read the whole article HERE. Think twice about renting from Hertz.

I've read so many of these incidents, lives and careers of innocent folks destroyed, that I can't believe Hertz is still in business OR that the cops still take their reporting cars as stolen seriously.
Shirley - If I'd heard this before I'd forgotten. I needed the reminder.
That Hertz! So does this cold weather in Indiana. I'm headed back south for awhile.
Makes me glad I'm retired and no longer traveling on business a lot. I used to rent cars (generally from Hertz) at least once a month; one year, I rented twice a month for about six months while working on a special project). I guess I'm lucky.
Yikes!
I had not heard about this before. Gotta love the Riverfront Times.
"Let Hertz Put You In The Felony Seat."
I'm my phone contacts, next to Hertz, it says "Do not rent from Hertz". Been that way for years
Should be called "Hurts" maybe?
Simmons - Yes it does. Get moving!
Bill - It sounds like you did all the right "Hertz" things not to get arrested.
Deb - Double yikes.
Kathy - They come up with some interesting stuff.
Shaw - "You get arrest while Hertz does the rest." I think that's what they said.
Mark - Interarresting.
Anon - Maybe "Hurts", "assholes" for sure.
Whew, just rented from Budget. Fingers crossed now!
The Doctors Wife - All that typing for nothing.
Well that is good enough for me. Suck it, Hertz.
Matt - Me too!
Peg - I didn't see you up there. I knew you were going on a trip and hoped you hadn't used Hertz. Whew.
Makes me glad we have no Hertz in town because the name recognition alone would have nudged me to use them if I needed to. Thanks for the heads up, anyway.
Jenny - Forewarned is forearmed.
I'm glad I don't drive.
River - That sounds like at least one post if not more.
