5778 - Drive your HOA nuts

Wouldn't this be fun to plant in your yard?

Bamboo that spreads and grows to over 100 feet tall (33 meters).

I am grateful not to have a HOA - but won't be planting invasive bamboo any time soon.

Sue - You mean you would miss out on a 100 foot stick?

Gives new meaning to the term "stick it to the man."

Wow!

Bill - With a great big stick.

Peg - You could fill your front yard with these.

I wonder if it grows outside of the tropics.

I didn't even know that bamboo could grow that big!

Even if it grew here I'm more of a fan of native plants.

Bamboo on growth hormone therapy?

John - Wikipedia says subtropical but also mentions an altitude of up to 6600 feet. Subtropical height can be limited to 60 feet. I just assumed it spread like other bamboo but they say it grows in clumps. It's not much of an investment as an experiment. $8.68 for 100 shoots on Amazon.

Deb - This was the first I'd heard of it too.

Kathy - Have you been on any of the search and destroy missions for honeysuckle? I've been on a couple of them.

Shaw - Radioactive steroids.

Wow! Cool! But I can't help thinking, what if you used your genius for good instead of making trouble? Lol. Love it, Mike

Just think what the Professor on Gilligan's Island could have done with all that bamboo.

Cloudia - I think about that and get back to you.

Kirk - He could have built an ocean liner.
