5826 - Brown magnolia

Before picture.

After picture... sort of...

I took a picture of the whole tree and it is basically brown. But I can't transfer from my phone to my PC. I used to be able to but I think the updates over the years have stopped talking to each other.

I tried to help the tree stay warm with a few fires under it but it's been too cold at night for too many days. Nature wins the battle this year.

I am sorry. Nature always wins and often plays dirty.

So sad :-(

Sue - I guess a brown tree is better than a tornado.

River - Hmmmm, I'm not so sure of that. 😊

Deb - Unfortunately I don't have email set up on my phone. I do all my email on my computer.

Martha - Unfortunately true.

Kathy - I'm just going to wait in my basement until next year! 😆

Shoot - I just hate when a whole years bloom is ruined.

Lady - It's been more than a few years since this has happened.

Weather has been unusual this winter. Here in S. California, We have had rain that surpasses any had over the past 20 years. Mike: 0, Nature: 1.

You're caring is evident

Susan - I should have kept score over the years. I think I'm ahead but I'm not sure.

Cloudia - I cared about $300 too much this year. My heat the tree project didn't work.

I guess I don't know how these types of trees works. It doesn't die in fall and then bloom again in spring?

Mike said...

Kirk - The flowers pop out first. Then they fall off and the leaves come out and new flower buds are set. Leaves fall in the fall. In spring the cycle repeats except when the flowers get hit by a freeze when they turn brown and fall off.

It's a weird situation when nature beats nature.
She can certainly be a fickle bitch.

John - This year the nature of cold won.
