To be polyamorous means to have open intimate or romantic relationships with more than one person at a time.
With this being the middle of pride month I thought I would post a link to all the flags and what they all mean. But in the group of 32 flags, I found an interesting one. A Pi flag! Is this my flag?! Well, what does polyamorous mean?
From the internet...
Poly relationships can take endless shapes, but they often fall into four main categories, she explains:
Hierarchical Polyamory. Hierarchical polyamory involves partners who consider each other their first priority. ...
Non-Hierarchical Polyamory. ...
Solo Polyamory. ...
Parallel Polyamory. ...
Kitchen Table Polyamory. ...
V or Hinge Polyamory.
...
Did you count 6? I did. Anyway, who told them they could use my Pi? Not me! And somebody messed up. Pi is endless after the decimal point. Before it is the number 3! So that flag says 3, not endless. Sheesh! 😆 I need to make my own Pi flag.
What was I posting about? Oh yeah, 32 pride flags and what they mean. Have a look.
And for more symbols and flags...
And here's a note from Reddit on the longest acronym...
...
The longest LGBT acronym in use is LGGBDTTQQIAAAAPP2SNBGVGNC+.
That's "Lesbian, Gay, Genderqueer, Bisexual, Demisexual, Transgender, Transsexual, Queer, Questioning, Intersex, Ally, Asexual/Aromantic, Agender, Pansexual, Polyamorous, two-spirit, Non-binary, Gender Variant, Gender Non-conforming."
So, you know, anything shorter needs the plus. And even that one uses the plus because it includes "maybe something we haven't thought of."
...
I remember seeing one that was 28 letters, but I can't find it anymore.

Thanks Mike
I'm too tired to look at flags. But thanks for the LBQwhatever explanation.
Cloudia - As always.
River - There's going to be a flag test tomorrow!
Respect and tolerance go a long way. LGBT+ works for me. I cannot keep the others straight in my head (pun not intended).
Sue - Let's have a contest on who can remember the longest...

I've blogged on the topic of vexillology (the design and meaning of flags) before, and it's a fascinating topic. The whole pride designation thing has gotten WAY out of hand ... at the rate we're going, newspapers won't have enough column space left after printing the acronym to report on whatever the story is.
I'm torn....I'm all for acknowledging people's rights, but there are no SO MANY iterations of the basic premise it's hard to keep them straight.
Kathy G -- "...it's hard to keep them straight."
Interesting choice of words.
Accidental or purposeful pun?
The one point about polyamory that you didn't stress is that it is completely consensual. All the partners know about and agree to the situation. I can't keep up with all the various Pride community flags anymore -- there's just so many of them! The polyamory flag is new to me. The alphabet soup acronym is constantly being adjusted too. Personally, I just use LGBTQ+ and leave it at that. Although in Canada this year, the acronym 2SLGBTQ+ seems to be the favoured one. It gives special prominence to the indigenous two-spirit (2S) community rather than just lumping them in under T along with the transexual/transgender community.
Bill - Out of hand is an understatement. I think the six color bars has been around long enough and it gets the point across just fine.
Kathy - 😆 You can't keep them straight!
John - I think it was on purpose.
Deb - Like I said, I remember finding one that was 28 letters long. But it had a few letters in it that the "community" didn't think belonged there because they didn't think "those people" were "one of us". It's impossible to make everyone happy!
I am hoping and praying that those flags come down end of June. I have a feeling they may have taken up permanent residence.
Susan - It probably depends on where the flags are flying now. If they are on public property, they'll come down. If they are at someone's home, they may stay up.
