The tree is dead like my computer. I'm on Claudia's computer right now as mine try's to restore the original operating system while deleting anything that was not original to the computer. 400 tree pictures...gone. Oh well, so I start a new collection.

I am so sorry to hear this. Good luck.
Mike, are you saying you didn`t put your entire Pauline Hickey collection onto a separate quim-ory stick ! ?, i`ve got 750 pictures of the bird backed up on 3 different quim-ory sticks ! ! !. Did you check all your obscure folders ?, without realizing you might`ve inadvertently transferred them to somewhere on the computer that wasn`t erased, all 750 images dont take up more than 10 megabyte's of space ! ! !. Check again Mike and if they really have been deleted i`ll have to start thinking about some way to send you my collection again, you dont want to be without those pictures of Pauline for to long my old mate.
All may not be lost but I have to assume it is.
I feel at least some of your pain, although my pain was self-inflicted ... I somehow have managed to delete my entire recipe file. I've copied the file Agnes keeps on her computer, but it was not as complete as mine, and many of our best stored recipes are gone unless I can find them in an old-enough backup. Sigh.
A single beautiful dead tree.
Hope you get your files back somehow.
What a loss!
Thanks for stopping in with an update. That tree is a great metaphor for your hard drive.
Despite all the damage done by deforestation, there's still some wilderness out there. May you find as many new trees as you've lost.
I'm sorry you had that experience Mike. We've all done it. I hope there's a tiny bit of liberation in it and you're up and running the way you want to be very soon. You're so capable, just a matter of deciding which way you want to go. Thanks for posting today. Good to see you
Awe well - Think of the fun you'll have finding new tree pictures.
I'll have a story tomorrow about a program called Recuva.
I feel your pain.
Susan - It's more fun than I can stand!
