Fireworks at the Arch in St. Louis on the 4th of July.
What else is happening? Remember when I said the program Recuva found 6 million files? Well, I found another program I forgot I had and was still on the hard drive. Unless Recuva brought it back. It's hard to keep track of what's going on sometimes.
I found Runtime. It's a program that can recover totally trashed hard drives, which it did for me years ago. I wondered if it would still work with the newer computer. Yep, it loaded up. It then informed me that it was going to check 3.8 billion segments on my 2TB hard drive. Two days it ran. It stopped, another screen popped up, ran, and went away. What?!
But more stuff seems to have come back. I found a February edition of my tree file.
I'm not sure what all came back because it put files in the backup of a backup as a backup. I've got a lot of searching to do. Oh! My Computer Club spreadsheet with all the member and financial info came back too! Whew! A February copy but close enough.

So exciting when we recover things we thought were lost. Good for you. Mike
Happy fourth.
I am thrilled for you that recovery is underway - but don't envy you having to organise it again.
"The backup of a backup as a backup." Just the way I do it.
I wish these tools would work on MY Memory too. I forget so much these days.
Cloudia - Just a few more to look for.
Sue - The organization part is slowing me down.
Bill - Who knows what I haven't found in the depths of the backup directories.
Stu - I'm right there with you.
No fireworks under the Arch this year :-(
Happy Independence Day, Mike.
Yay for file returns. That's relieving.
Hugs.
Kathy - I thought they were doing them only on the 4th. 😕
Robyn - Not total relief yet, but getting closer.
Backups of backed up backups? When do you sleep?
River - It's going to take quite a while to sort through all this stuff.
