The Statue of David has been a big deal recently in the backward looking states like Florida.
(I never did get my commission for posing for this statue.)
Well, I just found out there's a naked state of a female called The Naked Truth here in St. Louis. How new is it? 1914 new. It's in a park that was a 10 minute walk from where I lived for 15 years and I didn't know it existed until recently. 🤦♂️ My park was a 10 minute walk in a different direction.

I fail to understand why naked statues are a big deal. If you don't like them, don't look.

People will get incensed over the most stupid things, now more than ever. I have no problem with naked statues, although I much prefer naked live bodies. Well, some of them, anyhow. Mine’s no prize any more.

I've seen the David in real life in Italy. I've read about the problems it is causing in the US. We have an underwater mermaid statue here. She is pretty well covered in coral and sponge but has very shiny brass nipples!
I've been in that park before but don't remember seeing the statue. Might have to go back there when the weather cools off...and add some of the other city landmarks to the trip. Thanks for the link!

I hope people who are scandalized by seeing nude statues of men and women never visit Europe. They'll never return home with their morals intact. LOL!

I Love that female Statue, it's gorgeous and Tasteful. Nudity is usually just an American hangup, in Europe and Asia they don't think it's a big deal and would rather censor Violence than Nudity/Sexual content, which, when you think of it, Violence exposure to Children is much more harmful than them seeing a Natural Human Body that is not presented pornographically. At the Gym I find it amusing that most American Women use the Changing Rooms and are uncomfortable around other naked Women or showing their own Bodies. Whereas the European and Asian Women and us Old Hippies, it's such a non-issue and we're totally uninhibited.
Were Michaelangelo alive today, he'd be called a groomer.
