Short one today about Amazon. My son got up around 7:30am yesterday. He went to check something on his computer. His headphones, which were in sad shape, to begin with, broke. He got on Amazon and ordered a new pair. They were delivered to our house at 10:00am.
He told me Amazon has set up an Uber-like delivery service where anyone can go to the warehouse and pick up a package and deliver it. So if you're looking for something to do...

I'm addicted for sure 😊
I sure as heck don't need something to do, there's plenty around here that needs doing and I don't get to that either.
Cloudia - Soon, you'll be able to rent an apartment inside an Amazon warehouse.
River - I've put it on my to-do list. It's number 946.
I'm amazed at how fast Amazon can deliver things. If they could figure out a way to deliver babies, I'm sure a lot of women would be very happy.
That is super quick.
Like River I already have more than enough things I 'should' be doing.
Interesting. Just so you know, not every customer is receiving that kind of service. Those of us out in the hinterlands wait a week or more even with Prime. And it isn't as if they can't provide better service, they just don't. Tracking shows I am due to receive a package today that I ordered on July 27th. The kicker? It was shipped at noon yesterday. My prime is a free trial. I'm not exactly understanding what the advantage would be for that kind of investment on my part.
That new delivery system does not seem promising to me.
I'll never say never, but at this point I can't think of anything I would need that quickly.
Bill - And then they can install the microchip as soon as they're born.
Sue - But you could probably make $1 or even $2 per delivery! 😵
Anon - I don't know where you're at but sometimes Amazon lets the Post Office do the final leg of the delivery. And then there are Amazon locker locations and Amazon counter locations. Go to Google and search "Amazon near me". I have 4 or 5 warehouses and an untold number of locker and counter locations.
Deb - Like I mentioned to Cloudia, soon you'll be able to rent an apartment inside an Amazon warehouse.
Kathy - I think my son paid an extra $2 for asap delivery. Never say never is correct.
Soon they'll be delivering pizzas. Look out, Dominos!
It is easier to order from Amazon. With Covid and various health problems, I shopped for what we needed there.
I will ignore that job. Does not sound like one that would be safe.
Did your son pay extra for same-day delivery?
Mark - It looks like it may get here faster.
Susan - I hate giving crazy Z money but none of the corporations are worth devotion. Except Costco. They pay their employees a decent salary.
Kirk - I think it was $2 on a $100 item. It was here in a little over 2 hours.
With an Amazon warehouse in a nearby community, most Prime deliveries are pretty quick. However, there are also items that are not warehoused here and take longer, some may take a couple of weeks.
John - We're surrounded by Amazon warehouses here. That delivery didn't even come from the closest one.
